Beverly Jean Thomas, 71 years of age, of Beatrice passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. She was born on November 26, 1954 in Beatrice to Johnny and Joyce (Nelson) Thomas. Beverly graduated from Beatrice High School in 1973 and went on to earn her associate degree. Beverly’s main jobs were BSDC, Encore and MOSAIC, but liked to stay busy with working extra at the Buss Stop, Michael J’s, and House of Bottles. Beverly was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice where she was baptized, confirmed and taught Sunday School for many years. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her “Johnny Boy”, he was her pride and joy and they shared so many special memories together and continued to share the love for racing each weekend. Beverly was an avid Husker fan and especially enjoyed attending all the activities that her grandson, Braxton, was involved with. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting with her special friend Jim, she had a genuine love for dogs and racing at Beatrice Speedway.
Beverly is survived by her son, Johnathan Thomas and significant other Michelle Moore of Beatrice; grandson, Braxton Moore; brother, Kenny Thomas of Beatrice; niece, Randa Meints and husband Scott of Humble, Texas; and great nephews, Chanceler and Colton. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 20, 2026 at St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Heidi Price officiating. The service will be live streamed on the church’s Facebook page. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 AM Friday in the church chapel. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice from noon to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 5 to 8 PM.
