Governor Lou Leon Guerrero met with airline and airport executives in Taipei as part of Guam’s trade and investment mission to Taiwan, discussing expanded air connectivity between Guam and the Taiwanese capital.

Officials from Starlux Airlines, which sold out charter flights to Guam in 2025 and 2026, met with the governor to explore continuing charter service with the potential of transitioning to regularly scheduled flights in the future.

The Guam delegation also met with Taiwan foreign minister Dr. Lin Chia-Lung, who expressed support for strengthening travel and economic ties between Taiwan and Guam.

Officials say Taiwan remains a growing tourism market for Guam, with strong demand for direct flights and increasing collaboration across tourism, education, health, and renewable energy.

Discussions also included a possible sister-airport relationship between A.B. Won Pat International Airport and Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan’s largest airport and a major regional hub.

The meetings follow a newly signed sister-city agreement between Guam and Kaohsiung, Taiwan’s third-largest city, aimed at boosting tourism, trade, and investment ties between the two regions.
