Donna Jean Stansberry, known affectionately as "Mammer" by her cherished grandchildren, passed away on February 24, 2026 in Omaha. Born in Grants, NM on December 4, 1955, and raised in Fairbury, she graduated high school from Fairbury and received her LPN certification from Southeast Community College. Donna dedicated her life to serving others with her compassionate spirit and courageous heart, in her beloved profession as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for over 40 years. She later moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where she resided for three years till her time of passing. Her dedication to service did not end with her retirement as she continued to work part-time at Hillcrest Assisted Living in Lincoln, extending her care and love to the residents there.

Donna was a creative and loving soul, who found joy in thrifting, decorating, and giving generously to her friends and family. She was also known for her unique talent for making tumblers. Her family was paramount to her, and she poured her love into every interaction. A quote by Maya Angelou encapsulates Donna's spirit perfectly, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Donna made everyone she met feel loved, safe and cherished.

Donna was the beloved mother of Andrew (Christie) Barnts, Debra (Robert) Jaeger, and Gloria Pratt; and survived by 9 cherished grandchildren that called Donna “Mammer”, Ryan & Logan Jaeger, Cody (Lindsey) Ronne, Taylor (fiancé Jaden Gettys) Ronne, Austin (Lauren)Barnts, Chase Barnts, April Nelson, Angie (Jack) Troxel, and Gregory Nelson; 5 great grandchildren; her dear siblings Lori (Jim) Cary and Sheri Zoch and brother Kevin (Kelly) Lugenbeel; many nieces and nephews; and her spoiled grand dogs Bentley, Porshe, Ryder & Nahla. Donna's love, laughter, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She took great pride in taking care of her family and friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents James Lugenbeel & Jean (Harper) Lugenbeel; infant daughter Monica Barnts; and brother Jimmy Lugenbeel.

It was Donna's last wish to be cremated following her becoming a very proud organ donor. No visitation or services will be held at this time. A reception to celebrate Donna's life will be hosted by her family at a later date.
