Fuel price concerns
The attorney general is sounding the alarm over rising fuel prices and supply concerns on Guam.
In a letter sent to Speaker Frank Blas, Jr., Vice Speaker Tony Ada, Senator Jesse Lujan and Senator Telo Taitague, AG Douglas Moylan is requesting an informal roundtable discussion.
Moylan says after multiple meetings with gas companies, his office is increasingly concerned about both the availability of fuel and rapidly rising costs—which could impact local families, businesses, and the island’s economy.
The letter also points to global tensions, including the conflict in Iran, as a factor adding pressure to fuel markets.
Moylan plans to invite key stakeholders—including the Consolidated Commission on Utilities, the Guam Power Authority, and Guam’s delegate—to help assess the situation and discuss possible solutions.
His office says the goal is to get ahead of what he calls a “developing emergency.”
