Troop deployment watch
Troop deployment watch
Congressman James Moylan says he’s closely monitoring developments in the Middle East, as the U.S. Department of Defense moves to deploy thousands of additional troops to the region.
According to briefings, those deployments include elements of the 82nd Airborne Division, along with US Marines and naval assets—all aimed at reinforcing US presence and protecting American personnel and interests.
As a former servicemember, Moylan says he understands the weight of these missions—not just on troops, but on their families and communities back home, including here on Guam and in the CNMI.
For now, specific details on unit composition and individual service members have not been released due to operational security.
But the congressman’s office says it is working through military channels to determine whether any service members from Guam or the CNMI are among those deployed.
Moylan adds—the islands have a long and proud tradition of service and his office remains committed to keeping the community informed while prioritizing the safety of US troops.
