Today's a big day for Guam and Micronesia's Hometown Airline, as our friends at United Airlines rolled out the new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft at their hangar in Tiyan – in a B-I-G way. Island dignitaries were invited to come aboard and tour the new 166-seat capacity aircraft, which delivers a premium customer experience for all passengers, from the MAX 8's seatback touchscreen displays, high-speed WiFI and Bluetooth connectivity, and vastly more legroom.

This is one of several experience enhancements the company's made since the COVID era, which include tech investments to the 777-300ER and the ticket counter lobby at the Guam International Airport.

United will replace its entire 10-aircraft local fleet by year's end, with the first regular service routes to Japan, Mongolia, and Palau.
