Peggy L. Allen, 73, Nebr. City

Peggy L. Allen, age 73 of rural Nebraska City, NE passed away at her home on Tuesday; March 10, 2026.

Peggy Lee Allen was born on April 17, 1952 in Maryville, MO; the daughter of Ray Arnold and Velma Lee (Ross) Yandell.  She attended school at Craig RIII School District in Craig, MO and graduated with the Class of 1970.

She was united in marriage to Carl William “Bill” Allen on June 1, 1970 at Craig, MO and to this union four sons were born:  David Wayne, Michael Ray, Christopher Shawn and Cody John.  After her husband’s retirement from the United States Air Force in 1989, Bill and Peggy moved to their current home northwest of Nebraska City. 

Peggy worked for some 18 years at Johnson’s Gas and Go north of Nebraska City.  She also worked at the former Food Pride Grocery Store in Nebraska City.  She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi.

She is survived by her husband Carl “Bill” Allen of rural Nebraska City; sons:  David Allen and wife Renae of Nebr. City, Michael Allen and wife Tamara of Lee’s Summit, MO, Christopher Allen of Sidney, IA and Cody Allen of Green Bay, WI; nine grandchildren, one great-grandson; sisters:  Linda Kay Sauer of Kansas City, MO, Deborah May Matt of St. Joseph, MO, Vickie Ray Yandell of Rock Port, MO and Nancy Jo Rigby of St. Joseph, MO; other family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and two half-sisters.

The family will greet friends on Thursday; March 12, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.

Services in Rock Port, MO will be announced when scheduled.

In lieu flowers, memorials may be given to ALS in the Heartland, Inc. in Omaha, NE.

Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City and Chamberlain Funeral Home in Rock Port, MO are assisting the family with the arrangements.
