50th Annual Special Olympics Guam Track and Field makes a return on March 28
The Special Olympics Guam Organization proudly announces the 50th Annual Track and Field Event, set to take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Okkodo High School in Dededo.
This historic milestone marks five decades of empowering athletes with intellectual disabilities through the power of sport, bringing together athletes, families, volunteers, and supporters for a day of athletic achievement, inclusion, and community celebration.
The day will begin at 5 a.m. with the Law Enforcement Torch Run, a symbolic relay led by military and local law enforcement agencies. This powerful tradition represents unity, strength, and commitment to supporting Special Olympics athletes and their journey toward greatness.
At 8 a.m., the Opening Ceremonies will set the stage for an exciting day of competition. Athletes from schools and adult programs will proudly parade through the venue, joined by coaches, volunteers, cheerleaders, families, and supporters who stand behind them every step of the way.
Their presence celebrates the resilience, determination, and incredible spirit of Special Olympics athletes.
Since 1976, Special Olympics Guam has provided year-round sports training and athletic competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities. For 50 years, the organization has worked to build confidence, foster independence, and create meaningful opportunities for athletes to shine, while promoting a more inclusive and accepting Guam.
As SOGU celebrates this golden anniversary, the organization proudly honors the athletes, families, volunteers, coaches, and partners who have helped shape five decades of inspiration and achievement.
Special Olympics Guam invites the entire island community to come out and support our athletes as they compete, inspire, and remind us all of the power of inclusion.
