NORFOLK - One of the most potent offenses in Class C was flummoxed by Norfolk freshman Wyatt Clapp, who cruised out the gate and led the Panthers to a 3-1 win.

Clapp pitched five and two-thirds innings of no-hit ball. He was one out away from a complete game shutout before an RBI single in the top of the 7th by Adams Central's Kraeson Houghtelling chased the freshman off the mound.

The Panthers got all the offense they would need in the first inning, scoring all three of their runs and giving Clapp plenty of cushion.

The Patriots had been averaging nine runs a game prior to Friday, and were coming off a 9-4 win over Holdrege the night before. They've now lost three of their last four.
