Dog deceased, one person injured in Sterling structure fire Tuesday
Sterling crews responded to a trailer fire Tuesday with heavy flames showing. A child was safely accounted for, one person was treated and a dog was found dead. Cause remains under investigation.

STERLING, Colo. — Firefighters in Sterling, Colo. responded to a residential structure fire Tuesday at the Applewood Trailer Court, where crews quickly knocked down flames and confirmed all occupants were safely out of the home.
According to the Sterling Fire Department, first-arriving units encountered heavy fire coming from a porch and a single-wide trailer. Fire crews deployed multiple attack lines while another team entered through the rear of the home to search for a reported missing child.
Officials said the child was confirmed to be out of the residence shortly after crews arrived.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control and then searched for a missing dog, which was later found deceased.
One person was treated at the scene for injuries and released.
Sterling Police Department and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
