ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Nebraska erupted for five runs in the ninth inning, powered by a grand slam from Jett Buck, to secure a 9-5 comeback win over Michigan on Sunday in Ann Arbor.

Tied at four entering the final frame, Max Buettenback gave the Huskers the lead with a solo home run before Buck delivered the decisive blow — a 408-foot grand slam to left-center that broke the game open.

Nebraska improved to 18-6 overall and 5-1 in Big Ten play, finishing with nine runs on 10 hits. Michigan dropped to 11-11 and 1-5 in conference action.

Buettenback led the way offensively, going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Dylan Carey and Rhett Stokes each added solo home runs, while Buck drove in four with his late-game blast.

On the mound, J’Shawn Unger earned the win, improving to 4-1 after striking out five over 2.2 innings. Tucker Timmerman recorded the final two outs to secure the victory.

Nebraska trailed early and again after six innings before rallying with three runs in the seventh to briefly take the lead. Michigan answered to tie the game at four before the Huskers’ ninth-inning surge sealed the win.

Nebraska returns to action Tuesday with a road matchup at Kansas State.
