Timothy "Tim" Barr

Timothy “Tim” Barr, age 54, of Omaha, NE passed away at his home in Omaha, NE on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney, NE with Brenda Pfeifly officiating. In lieu of flowers the family ask to make memorial contributions in the family’s names for later designation.

Tim was born to John Edward Barr and Sharon Mae Barr on July 26, 1971, in Englewood, CO. From an early age, Tim committed much of his energy and life to the performing arts. His eternal passion for acting, writing and music was apparent all his life. After graduating from Sidney High School in 1989, Tim became a theater student at Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, NE and later at Doane College in Crete, NE
and South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. Tim traveled and educated young students in theater with Missoula (MT) Children’s Theater which became the first of many mentorship and coaching roles in Montana and the Pacific Northwest. For his head coaching efforts at Hellgate High School, Tim was recognized as the Montana State Speech Coach of the year in 1998.
After minor movie, TV and advertising roles, Tim’s life included writing scripts and theater stage productions in many locations including Denver, Seattle and Omaha where he was deeply involved in the Bellevue Little Theater, Omaha Film Festival, Flatwater Film Festival and other local organizations focused on the arts community.
Tim was well-known by all of his friends and family for always working on his next writing project, loving Husker sports and Denver Broncos football, spending time with his best friend, Linda, and being the best possible dog owner to his beloved Petunia.
He is survived by his mother, Sharon Barr, his younger brothers, Anthony Barr and Tyson and his wife Courtney Barr and their children, Hudson, Camden and Mollee, his best friend Linda Hughes and his dog Petunia.
He is preceded in death by his father, John.
