Rodgers bringing Homegrown to Nebraska City
Local poetry reading on April 11
NEBRASKA CITY – The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts at Nebraska City is hosting the Homegrown traveling series of intimate art from 5 to 7 p.m. on April 11.
Nebraska State Poet Jewel Rodges hosts the arts gathering to highlight other Nebraska voices.
The art center is scheduling three to five poets who are currently living in Nebraska City. One slot is reserves for youth between ages of eight to 18.
Rodgers is the first African-American woman and the youngest person to serve as Nebraska’s state poet.
