Hastings Teacher, Superintendent's Wife, Resigns After Shoplifting Incident

A Hastings elementary school teacher resigned after being cited for shoplifting.

HASTINGS, Neb. — A Hastings elementary school teacher resigned after being cited for shoplifting.

According to the Hastings Police Department, Coaches Corner in Hastings reported a woman acting suspiciously who left the store without buying anything. Once the woman left, an employee reviewed the surveillance footage and found that the woman had concealed a bottle of alcohol in her coat.

The footage was handed over to police to investigate. The woman was identified as 41-year-old Jennifer Prososki of Hastings, a teacher at Alcott Elementary. Once police located Prososki, she was issued a citation for shoplifting.

Prososki was listed on the Hastings public school website as a special education teacher at Alcott Elementary School. She is the wife of HPS Superintendent Dr. Christopher Prososki. The school district confirmed she has resigned from her position.
