STANTON, Neb. — A 54-year-old Howells man was arrested Friday night after authorities found him impaired inside a vehicle in a ditch.
The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office responded Friday at approximately 10 p.m. to a report of a vehicle in a ditch near 563rd Avenue and Union Creek Road, southwest of Stanton.
Deputies located a lone male driver inside the vehicle who was obviously impaired. Authorities identified him as Douglas Knoell, 54, of Howells.
Knoell was arrested after failing field sobriety tests and was booked at the sheriff’s office, where his blood alcohol concentration was measured at more than twice the legal limit.
Authorities said the arrest marks Knoell’s fourth DWI offense.
He was jailed pending the posting of a cash bond. Knoell was also cited for no valid operator’s license and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
