Authorities investigating attempted murder-suicide in Kearney County
Authorities in Central Nebraska are investigating what they say was an attempted murder-suicide that injured three kids and ended a woman’s life.
MINDEN, Neb. — Authorities in Central Nebraska are investigating what they say was an attempted murder-suicide that injured three kids and ended a woman’s life.
The Nebraska State Patrol says the Kearney County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene in rural Kearney County early Saturday afternoon. According to a news release, three children and a woman suffered gunshot wounds. First responders found the woman dead.
An ambulance transported the three children, who are each under the age of 12, to a local hospital. Two of them were transferred to Children’s in Omaha for further care. The State Patrol says all three are expected to survive.
The release says there is no threat to the public. Authorities aren’t releasing names at this time in order to protect the identities of the victims.
