Orangemen fall to Gretna, end season 11-11
The season has come to an end for Beatrice Orangemen basketball.
GRETNA, Neb. - The season has come to an end for Beatrice Orangemen basketball.
Beatrice fell short of Gretna 52-40 on Thursday night, ending year one of the Jackson Weeks era 11-11.
The Orangemen couldn’t overcome a brutal start, where they fell behind 17-0 to begin the contest, trailing 21-5 at the end of the first, but would claw back in it to trail by just five at halftime. Beatrice would out-score the Dragons 18-5 in the second quarter.
Gretna would find another big second half run to pull away, to advance to the district finals.
Harrison Vetrovsky would lead the Orangemen in scoring with 17.
Beatrice ends the season with an even .500 record, while Gretna meets Skutt in the district final.
