Hammer damage to a neighbor's car leads to arrest
A 28-year-old man is facing a felony charge after police say he used a hammer to damage his neighbor’s car in Dededo.
According to a magistrate’s complaint filed in superior court, officers responded around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to the Giomat Apartments on Alageta Street, where a resident reported seeing Jeffrey Swaiter damage her 2015 Buick Regal.
Police say Swaiter admitted he was angry at a woman, which caused him to “break the car outside.” Officers also noted he allegedly said, “when my car gets broken, you don't come...but when i break, you guys come fast.”
Swaiter has been charged with criminal mischief as a third-degree felony, if convicted. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.
